The Captain’s Retreat has a reputation for being one of the cleanest and most comfortable places to stay in Ninilchik and the surrounding area. Even with the unique and interesting art and collectibles throughout, it would be fair to say that the host, Captain Randolph Murphy, retired “waterman ” from Tilghman Island, Maryland, is perhaps the most interesting thing you will come across there! Hospitable and friendly, lots of guests return just to see him! He and the staff can share many references and information on Ninilchik, the Kenai Peninsula, and Alaska.
The owners have traveled quite extensively in Alaska before opening the B&B, so they are a great source of information. Our prices are very reasonable, including a delicious, full home cooked breakfast if desired. Continental breakfast is also available for those with lighter appetites. The B&B is the closest lodging to the beach where all the charter boats are put in, so it is not only a nice place to stay, but also most convenient, allowing a short amount of travel to get to your boat, a little extra time to sleep. and Captain Ran can suggest many reliable charters.
We are a newly renovated B&B, serving a fisherman’s breakfast or carry aboard lunch with five rooms or a private cabin. We are located within walking distance of Ninilchik’s amenities and the Ninilchik River, Deep Creek and Cook Inlet. Let us help you plan your Kenai adventure.
